The most awaited 49th annual Daytime Emmys 2022 is well underway and is airing live on CBS. The award show is also streaming on Paramount+ at 9 pm ET and 6 pm PT.
The Daytime Emmy Awards is an American honor awarded by the New York-based National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. It is awarded in honor of excellence in American daytime television programming. The first award ceremony was held in 1974 and was generally held in May or June.

The 2022 Daytime Emmy Award ceremony was hosted by Entertainment Tonight’s Kevin Frazier and Nischelle Turner from the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in California. Numerous awards were handed over previously at the Creative Arts & Lifestyle ceremony held last weekend.
Most awards were taken by The Kelly Clarkson Show and even by The Ellen DeGeneres Show’s writing team months after the prolonged talk show telecasted their final episode. In this year’s show, a lifetime achievement award was presented for Days of Our Lives star John Aniston, father of Jennifer Aniston.
On Friday night, the show ‘General Hospital’ was announced as the big winner of the 49th annual Daytime Emmys as the show achieved five awards including the daytime drama. The two-hour telecast commenced without a snag even though some threat had outranked the show held at the Pasadena Convention Center.
The “General Hospital” achieved Daytime Emmys including awards for the best supporting actor and actress, young performer, director, etc. also the is announced as the most-winning daytime drama series in the history of entertainment awards and has won the ultimate prize 15 times altogether.
The best entertainment talk show award was repeatedly achieved by “The Kelly Clarkson Show.” Also, Clarkson has achieved an award for the best entertainment talk show host, making the program the most achieved show of this year.

The award for the best entertainment news program is attained by “Entertainment Tonight.” “Young & Restless” star Mishael Morgan has made history in the 49th annual Daytime Emmys by achieving the award for the lead actress category. She is the first Black winner and even expressed her feelings in the show. She said, “We are breaking glass ceilings left, right, and center. We can and we will do this thing called equality and unity together.”
The 2022 Daytime Emmy was unique as the major acting awards were awarded to those who had never won any before. This even includes the lead actor, supporting actors, young performers, etc.
