Kim Kardashian, Katy & Othe Stars To ‘Cancel’ July 4 Celebration Amid Abortion Row

On Monday, the United States celebrated its 246th birthday, and a number of prominent leftists and media sites took the opportunity to attack the country. In response to the shocking Supreme Court decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, the statute that had secured women’s right to abortion for roughly 50 years, many celebrities have lined up to oppose the Fourth of July festivities.

Kim Kardashian, a former cast member of The Kardashians, is one of the demonstrators. To protest the celebration of America’s birthday, she posted on social media. On their individual social media profiles, Kim and her mother Kris shared a post from another user.

According to the post, “Independence Day has been postponed owing to a shortage. sincerely, ladies Bette Midler, a singer and actress, shared the post on her social media in addition to former members of The Kardashians.

Braunwyn Windham, a former member of the ‘Real Housewives’ franchise, shared a photo of herself decked up in a costume from the popular television series ‘The Handmaid’s Tale. The image depicts a hypothetical future society in which women lack fundamental rights. Even the caption, written by Windham, read: “July Fourth. Uncertain of the appropriate holiday this year.

Jessica Chastain is a different celebrity who posted about the situation on social media. She posted a picture of herself with her middle fingers raised, wishing the country joyful independence. She even remarked that she and her reproductive rights were the main sources of the wishes.

Singer Katy Perry of “Harleys in Hawaii” used her own song to express her indignation at the Roe v. Wade decision. “Baby you’re a firecracker” is a 10, but women in the US have fewer rights than a real sparkler, she tweeted.

The host of Bravo’s “Top Chef,” Padma Lakshmi, was another well-known figure who opposed the celebration. She tweeted, “Not much to celebrate this Fourth, I’m afraid,” in response to the ruling. Even so, she vowed to continue fighting alongside the protesters until the day when everyone is granted equal rights, if not over their bodies and selves, at the very least. She continued by saying that they must resist until people are granted the freedom to choose who they want to love and peacefully coexist with.

Protests have started since last month in different parts of the nation, both in favor of and against the overturning of Roe v. Wade. On Twitter, Rep. Anna Eshoo (D-Calif.) declared that the Supreme Court’s ruling, which lessens equality for half of Americans, cast a shade on the 246th anniversary of the United States.

She further said that the majority of them are protesting peacefully rather than rejoicing and having barbecues today, which is the most American thing they could be doing. The former Trump administration employee Kellyanne Conway’s daughter, Claudia Conway, took part in the nonviolent demonstration against the abortion law. She believes that Americans are not free. She even questions whether it is necessary to celebrate a situation in which only half of the population is independent. And as a result, they are currently battling in the streets for reproductive rights and protesting the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.
