William Sanford Nye, commonly known as Bill Nye the Science Guy, is an American mechanical engineer, science communicator, and television presenter. He is known for hosting the science television show Bill Nye the Science Guy and the Netflix show Bill Nye Saves the World. He has even appeared in popular media as a science educator.

Nye started his career as a mechanical engineer for Boeing and invented a hydraulic resonance suppressor tube used on 747 airplanes. He left Boeing in 1986 to pursue his dream comedy, writing, and performing for the local sketch television show Almost Live!.
As per the latest reports, the Science guy has found the love of his life. Bill Nye has found his love in author Liza Mundy. The couple has declared their vows in front of their close friends and family on the May at the Enid A. Haupt Garden beyond the Smithsonian Institute’s Castle in Washington, D.C. the latest reports reveal that the marriage ceremony was officiated by the Star Trek star Robert Picardo and the couple even had their first dance to Sam Cooke’s version of Wonderful World.
Liza Mundy is an American journalist, non-fiction writer, and New America Foundation fellow who has written numerous books. Her writings were featured in Atlantic, Politico, The New York Times, The New Republic, Slate, The Guardian, and The Washington Post.
Liza wore a white satin sleeveless dress with a mermaid hemline, train, and beaded belt that she completed with a vibrant orange and yellow bouquet. While Nye wore a black tuxedo along with an orange boutonniere on his lapel. He even wore cufflinks that belonged to his father, featuring a small blue stone in the center and his signature bowtie.
The science educator met the journalist as she mentioned Nye’s cryptanalyst mother, Jacqueline Jenkins-Nye, in Code Girls: The Untold Story of the American Women Code Breakers of World War II, a 2017 book. After the book came out Nye sent her mail and thus their bond was formed. Liza’s daughter Anna shared a toast at the reception to the happy couple. Nye’s brother Darby and Brian, a friend of over 50 years, even proposed a toast for the newly wedded couple.
The science guy and the journalist have kept their relationship private. They have made very few red carpet appearances together and firstly appeared at the Captain Planet Foundation 30th Anniversary Gala in March. The most recent red carpet the couple have attended was at the premiere of his new Peacock series The End Is Nye in June. For the past few years, the couple has built a strong connection. They even had a great bond over their shared love for storytelling and learning which even paved the way for the strong connection between the couple.
Nye and Liza’s whole romantic wedding was documented by longtime White House photographer Pete Souza. He even shared a handful of intimate shots from the wedding eve on his Instagram. He even joked in the caption, “Yes, it’s true, I’m now officially a wedding photographer.”
